- MX Spa is housed in the lower level of the Mining Exchange Hotel. The building was constructed from 1900-1902 by Winfield Scott Stratton, the Cripple Creek millionaire and civic benefactor, to house the Colorado Springs Mining Exchange and promote regional mining companies and their stock. It is regarded as the most substantial and intact building associated with Stratton that remains.
- 2009-2012
- From 2009 to 2012, the building underwent a substantial renovation process guided by its owner, Perry Sanders. It opened to the public in 2012 as a boutique hotel, offering a chic urban vibe in the heart of Colorado Springs. With 117 guest rooms, striking public areas, award-winning cuisine and live entertainment all on property, The Mining Exchange is truly on the bulls-eye block of a bustling downtown Colorado Springs.
